Pennsylvania rankings 2020 : Menassat among the best Think Tanks

The Menassat Center for Research and Social Studies is pleased to announce that it has taken its place in the University of Pennsylvania's Lauder Institute's ranking among the best recently created think tanks in the world, a consecration that crowns the first year in the life of thisyoung structure.

This prize list bringing together research centers from five continents is the work of the program called "The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program" (TTCSP). Often referred to as the "think tank of think thanks," the TTCSP examines the changing role and character of public policy research centers. It works with academics and high-level experts on various actions and produces the annual "Global Go To Think Tank Index" which ranks the main international research centers in several categories.

The ranking is a valuable benchmark, used by academics, journalists, donors and the general public to locate and connect with leading research centers in public policy, international and regional studies, and the social sciences around the world. Since its inception in 1989, TTCSP has focused on collecting data and conducting research on trends in think tanks and the role they play as actors in society. It provided technical assistance and capacity building programs in 85 countries.

We remind that MENASSAT for research and social studies is a non-profit organization based in Casablanca, Morocco. Concerned about major development issues, the MENASSAT center aims to actively participate in the development process through in-depth sociological research, supervision, training and support for scientific research and the sharing of knowledge and solutions to problems facing society at local, national and regional levels.

The MENASSAT center was barely a few weeks old when Morocco entered the process of managing the COVID-19 pandemic, it therefore launched a study, the fruit of which is two summary reports entitled "Moroccans and Covid-19: representations, attitudes and practices ”, and this in May and July 2020. This work was able to draw up an inventory which aroused a very particular interest on the part of all the stakeholders. At the same time, the young center has multipliedits actions, in particular by launching the JIL program which aims to develop the scientific, media and advocacy skills of young people and to invest them in interaction with public policies. It is also an action research program around individual freedoms.

The projects currently being validated relate to a five-year planning and target other aspects which are no less important and above all promising thanks to an experienced team both academically and practically.
