3rd edition of the socio-pause : A look back at the career of a sociologist


The socio pause launched by Menassat continues to build the bridges between different generations of sociologists. After two previous editions, Menassat for research and social studies organised its third edition of the socio-pause. The sociologist and researcher Saadeddine Igamane will be the guest of this edition that will be the 30 october 2023 in the headquarters of Menassat, starting from 16h00.

Igamane is a sociologist and teaching professor at the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah university, he is a member of the Laboratory of Sociology and Psychology (LSP), he is the president of the  Interdisciplinary Institute for Social Sciences (2I2S).He coordinates the Master’s degree in “Sociology of the ESS”. He has several publications to his credit : Guide to the Quantitative Method in Social Sciences (which is published in Arabic) , Power Inequalities within Women's Cooperatives in Morocco, 2020,  Money and Religion among Young Students in Morocco Conditions of becoming a Consumer of Islamic Finance, 2018 , Journey of an Artisan in search of Entrepreneur Status: A Case of Informal Entrepreneurship in the Neoliberal Era, 2015.

The moment of the Pause will then be an occasion to come back on the multidisciplinary career of sociologist Saadeddine Igamane, a moment of sharing with doctoral students and a look back at his experiences, of his research and his publications. It will also be a moment for intergenerational exchange, where particular emphasis will be placed, during this edition, on the experience of this researcher in survey methodologies and data analysis, but also on the techniques and stages of developing the questionnaire.

As a reminder, the Socio-pause which had as guests the sociologists Jamal KHALIL and Bouchaib MAJDOUL, is an activity launched by Menassat for the benefit of young researchers in order to build bridges of scientific knowledge between the generation of young researchers, and that of their academic predecessors who have accumulated a wealth of experience in the field of research, which contributes to strengthening and consolidating their academic curriculum.
